Play it safe, remember the internet is full of crooks.

The internet can be a safe place, and very useful if you know what to watch out for.

NEVER click on an email link unless you know who it is from.

If you receive an email from any company that reads, they need your personal information, 99.9% of the time it is a crook.

Always go directly to the web site you may be a member of like, www.ebay.com

and log in to your own account. Check for yourself if they need your information.

A secure web site has https:// before their name on the address bar. If it only has http:// it is not a secure site, BEWARE when giving out information to them.

A few scams are:

Email from Ebay:
Someone will send you a message asking you a question, NEVER click on respond now, always go to your own ebay account, check your messages from there.
Crooks are smart, if you click on respond now it will take you to a site that looks just like an Ebay site, when you log in, that's it, they have your information.

They win, YOU LOSE.

The same thing is true if you get an email from Paypal, always go to their web site, NEVER click on a link.

Open up an email account with yahoo.com or mail.com, it is free and web based. It is harder for viruses to get through to your computer, also you can check these emails from any computer.
